Where can I find my policy number?

Your policy number is on the email with the title "Your Aviva Policy Confirmation" sent to you after you purchased your policy and can also be found on your policy documentation.

Policy number format

Policy numbers have 3 letters followed by 9 numbers. Please ignore any '/1' or '/2' at the end of the number.

What can you do on motor policies?

You can:

  • View your personal motor policies bought directly from Aviva
  • View and print your insurance documents, including your motor insurance certificate
  • Renew your insurance without making any changes
  • Make a wide range of changes without any administration costs
  • Make changes on your next term's insurance after you have accepted your renewal
  • Add or remove add-ons (e.g. breakdown or courtesy car)
  • Add drivers
  • Change your vehicle
  • Get quotes to add up to 4 extra vehicles - cars and/or vans
  • View and change your direct debit bank account details

Unfortunately there are a few things you can't do online yet:

  • Change your personal details (such as marital status and last name)
  • Change your address
  • Make any temporary changes (e.g. adding a temporary driver or vehicle)
  • Make a change to your policy for 32 days before renewal, however once you have accepted your renewal you will be able to schedule changes in the next term including reducing your mileage and changing your excess
  • Make a second change to your policy if you already have a change pending
  • Remove drivers or vehicles from motor policies with more than one vehicle
  • Cancel your policy
  • Submit proof of your no claim discount
  • Make a payment for any arrears. Please call 0800 051 2210.
  • You can't reduce your policy excess below the current level until renewal. Please call us at renewal if you want to reduce your excess and have yet to accept your renewal

  • Make changes on your next term's insurance after you have accepted your renewal
  • Add or remove optional extras (e.g. personal belongings, accidental damage)
  • View and change your direct debit bank account details

Unfortunately there are a few things you can't do online yet:

  • Change your personal details (such as marital status and last name)
  • Change your address
  • Make a change to your policy for 32 days before renewal, however once you have accepted your renewal you will be able to schedule changes in the next term including reducing your mileage and changing your excess
  • Make a second change to your policy if you already have a change pending
  • Add contents to a buildings policy or add buildings to a contents policy
  • Cancel your policy
  • Make a payment for any arrears. Please call 0800 051 2210.
