What type of trip cover would you like?

Single trip

If you have only one holiday or business trip planned during the year, single trip may be best value for you. Single trip insurance covers a trip of up to 120 days.

Annual multi-trip

If you are planning to travel several times in a year, annual multi-trip may be the best value for you. Annual multi-trip insurance covers any number of trips of up to 31 days each, with an option to increase the maximum trip length to 45, 60 or 90 days.

If you have already made travel arrangements and do not have travel insurance you should start your cover immediately to ensure that you are covered in case you need to cancel your trip before you go. You can select a cover start date within 30 days of today’s date.

Single trip

Your details

Aviva can provide new business travel insurance cover for travellers under 80 years of age for Single Trip insurance, or under 75 years for Annual Multi-trip insurance. If you are aged 80 or above we have an arrangement with specialist travel insurance provider AllClear who are able to provide cover for you.

AllClear provide specialist travel insurance which is particularly suitable for older travellers who may have pre-existing medical conditions. You can speak to AllClear on 0800 848 8693. This line is open 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday. Calls may be monitored and/or recorded. Alternatively go to AllClear’s website.

We cover people who are residents of the UK (including Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man).

Undiagnosed conditions

There may be some instances where we can’t give you a quote online, please call us on 0800 015 4931 if you answer yes to any of the following;

  • If you or any traveller to be covered on this policy have sought medical advice because of symptoms you're experiencing that have not yet been diagnosed or you are under investigation or waiting for test results or in-patient treatment.
  • If you or any traveller to be covered on this policy are aware of a close relative, business associate, travelling companion or someone you are planning to stay with on your trip, who has a serious, chronic or recurring illness, injury or disease that would mean you may have to cancel or abandon a trip if their condition got worse.

Do you or any travellers have medical conditions to declare?

In the last 12 months have you or anyone travelling with you, received advice, medication or been treated for any serious, chronic or recurring condition?
Are you or anyone travelling with you under medical investigation or awaiting results for any diagnosed medical condition?
Are you or anyone travelling with you on a waiting list, or been made aware of the need for in-patient treatment for any diagnosed medical condition?

Examples of when to declare

  • If you take prescription medicine, you need to tell us about the condition this treats.
  • If you suffered a heart attack or stroke more than 12 months ago, we need to know what you are now receiving treatment for, for example: blocked arteries, high blood pressure.
  • If you only take a daily dose of aspirin, with no other medication, then you don't need to declare this to us.

How we use your information

To assess the terms of yoyr insurance contract at new business, renewal, and when we deal with changes to your policy or claims that arise , we may need to collect and use information about your health relating to you and (where relevant) family members and other people covered by your insurance.

By proceeding with this application

  • You understand that we will use information about you including information about health for these purposes.
  • You are confirming thar any other person (e.g. a family member or other individual covered by your insurance policy) whose information you are providing understands and has no concerns about their information being used in this way.

You can also contact us at any time if you would like to ask us to stop using your information but this may prevent us from assessing future claims and policy may be cancelled. Please note this will also apply to joint policies and, if any one of the policyholders asks us to stop using their information, this may prevent us assessing future claims and policy may be cancelled.

To ensure we have the necessary facts to assess your insurance risk, verify your identity, help prevent fraud and provide you with our best premium and payment options we may obtain information about you and (where relevant) your family and other people covered by your insurance, from publicly available sources, our trusted third parties and information held by Aviva. This may be collected at quotation and renewal and in certain circumstances where policy amendments are requested.

Please agree that the following statements are true to view your cover summary.

You and any other traveller named:

  • Are a UK resident (a UK resident is a person whose main home is in the UK, is registered with a UK doctor and is liable to pay taxes in the UK). You must have been resident in the UK (including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) for at least 6 months at the time of buying the policy.
  • Have had less than 3 travel insurance claims in the past 3 years.
  • Have not already commenced the trip to be covered.
  • Are not travelling against medical advice and have not received a terminal prognosis for any medical condition.
  • Have never had travel insurance refused, cancelled or special terms imposed.
  • Have not received any criminal conviction for fraud, dishonesty or deception in the last 5 years.

This only applies to convictions that are not spent under the 'Rehabilitation of Offenders Act as amended by the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offender Act 2012'.
