Health and wellbeing

Funding level: £5,001 to £10,000

The Maypole Project was established in 2003 and due to its success became a registered charity in 2003. We are a professional service founded on person-centred psycho-social practice. We aim to relieve and help preserve the mental well being of children and young people who have complex medical needs and disabilities and provide long term support to the whole family.

65% of families who are given the news that their child has a complex medical need, seek emotional support. The diagnosis itself is life-shattering and stressful for each and every family member.

Our promise to families is that we will be alongside them every step of the way, creating a package of support tailored to their needs. We offer whole family support for as long as it is needed, allowing families to access our service as and when required.

We provide...
* Counselling (one to one and couples)
* Play Therapy
* Activities and Outings
* Therapeutic Arts and Crafts
* Maypole Active: our inclusive after school sports club
* National Helpline
* Training and Supervision to professionals

YOUR VOTE will have a direct impact on the lives of children with complex medical needs and their families.
